FOX Sports soccer analyst and former USMNT midfielder Stu Holden counts down the top 50 players participating in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
country: United States
rating: 49
Rating in 2018: N/A
Position: Midfielder
age: 19
Although Yunus Moussa is one of the newer additions to the USMNT player pool, he has quickly become an invaluable part of Greg Berhalter’s three-man midfield.
“His technical ability is very good,” Stu Holden said of Musa. “He’s a guy who can get out of a tight space under pressure; he has great balance and movement in this; he’s a guy who can tie the game and drive the ball forward with his dribbling.”
Moussa is far from a finished product — he’s yet to show he can be a goal-scoring threat — but it’s not hard to see why US Soccer was so happy to commit his international future to them in 2021.
“I really think he’s a player who can be one of the breakout stars of this year’s tournament,” Holden said.
Yunus Musa: #49
The USMNT’s Yunus Musa is known for his technical ability, movement and strength and was ranked 49th in Stu Holden’s list of the 50 best players for the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup.
