Day 2 of the MLB wild card continues as Cleveland Guardians rolled over Tampa Bay Rays in the first game Saturday, by striking out a homer.
Seattle followed by an incredible victory over Toronto to complete a series of sweeps.
Meanwhile, Metz looking to recover from a disappointing output against San Diego and Philadelphia attempts to close the door St. Louis.

Phillies vs. Cardinals (Game 2, PHI leads 1-0)
Harper HITS a deep home run
Bryce Harper hit a 435-footer to deep right that gave the Phillies a 1-0 lead.
Padres vs. Mets (Game 2, SD leads 1-0)
Explosion!
Franziska Lindor got the Mets on the board in the first with this 403-foot shot to left.
He does it again
After returning to a 7-1 win over the Mets on Friday, Padres CF Trent Grisham went yard again and this time out in the top of the third to tie the game 1-1.
Mariners 10, Blue Jays 9 (SEA wins series 2-0)
Teoskar goes to the yard
Blue Jays slugger Teoscar Hernandez gets his team on the board in Toronto’s first in a win-or-go-home game with a two-run shot to left field for a 2-0 lead.
Teaskar doubled!
After Vlad Guerrero Jr had an RBI single in the third, Hernandez extended the Blue Jays’ lead to 4-0 when he hit his second homer of the game, both off Mariners starters Robbie Ray. The homer ended Ray’s day as Seattle called Matt Brash from the bullpen.
So close!
Carlos Santana was just a few feet away from cutting the Blue Jays’ lead in half. His fly ball to center hit the top of the wall, dodging an outstretched arm George Springer.
Santana ended up hitting a double that put the runners in scoring position Jared Kelenich knocked in a run on a sac fly to make it 4-1 in the fifth.
A wild pitch leads to a wild pitch
The Mariners’ deficit in the three series did not last long. The Blue Jays quickly loaded the bases and allowed a passed ball Santiago Espinal score to make it 5-1. After Alejandro Kirk walked, Hernandez was denied a chance for his third home run as he was hit by a pitch to make it 6-1.
The Blue Jays are supplementing
Matt Chapman hit a sac fly to continue the Blue Jays’ scoring in the fifth to make it 7-1. Danny Jansen doubled to help Toronto jump out to an 8-1 lead in the fifth.
Sailors make it interesting
Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman found himself in a jam to start the sixth, allowing the first three Mariners hitters to reach base. However, he got two straight outs, but was still ejected.
Tim Maiza came in and threw a wild pitch on his first offering to Santana, allowing the runner to score. Later in the scrimmage, Santana picked off a Maize yardage to cut the Blue Jays’ lead to 8-5.
We have a brand new ball game
After trading a pair of runs to make it 9-6, the Mariners tied the score on a play that resulted in a bunt between Because Bichette and George Springer.
Seattle SS J. P. Crawford hit a shallow fly to center and Bichette and Springer collided going after the ball. The Mariners cleared the bases on the play, tying the game at 9-9.
Sailors are in the lead!
Seattle grabbed the lead in the top of the ninth after being down 8-1 in the fifth inning.
Adam Fraser laced double right field that led to Cal Raleigh and gave the Mariners a 10-9 lead.
Keepers 1, Rays 0 (CLE wins series 2-0)
Just nasty
Tyler Glasnow he seemed to be in postseason form with that strikeout.
Throwing match
Glasnova and Tristan McKenzie are in rare form, quickly turning Saturday’s game into a classic playoff matchup.
Thunderous applause
Kudos to Glasnow, who was stellar through five innings.
Mackenzie magic
In six innings, McKenzie registered eight strikeouts and allowed just two hits.
In other words, he runs the business.
Narrow escapes
In the bottom of the sixth, the Guardians had the bases loaded with no outs. But Jason Adam was able to delete Jose Ramirez earlier Josh Naylor grounded into a double play.
Running saved!
The Guardians kept the Rays out of the game with this incredible defensive play!
A new record has been set!
The Rays and Guardians left the 13th inning empty-handed, making it the first scoreless game in 13 innings in MLB playoff history.
More history is being written
As Game 15 approached, more MLB playoff records were set. With guardians Sam Hentges striking out Taylor Walls and Francisco Mejia to start the inning, Saturday’s game tied the record for total strikeouts in a playoff game with 38. Hentges struck out Jose Siri to finish the pitch.
Guardians leave!
After 14.5 innings of scoreless baseball, Oscar Gonzalez ended the game and the streak with a solo shot to open the bottom of the 15th, sending the Rangers to the ALDS to face Yankees.
