The cast of the next Transformers movie, Transformers: The Beast Rises, just got bigger thanks to Pete Davidson and Michelle Yeoh.The film’s director Stephen Caple Jr. (“Creed II”) shared the big news on October 11 via Instagram post with video recording sessions with two actors.
“Pete Davidson in disguise. 😂 @transformersmovie cast is awesome man,” Caple Jr. wrote in the caption. “A glimpse of Pete voicing Mirage and @michelleyeoh_official blessing us as the voice of Airazor 🫣 #rotb 2023.” Davidson and Yeo join previously announced cast members Anthony Ramos and Dominic Fishback, who, unlike their new co-stars, will play live-action roles in the upcoming film.
“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” the seventh installment of the blockbuster, follows the 2018 film “The Bumblebee.” In accordance with Diversitythe film goes back to the 90s and reportedly introduces the Maximals and Terrorcons, two new cybernetic alien parties who take sides in the ongoing battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.
The Hollywood Reporter also noted that the title of the new film harkens back to the 90s cartoon Animal Wars, which revolved around a group of robots that turned into animals. Caple Jr., who grew up a Beast Wars fan, took inspiration from the cartoon for his vision of Transformers. “There are different breeds of Transformers,” Caple Jr. said during a virtual press event in June 2021, according to THR. “In our particular film, these are prehistoric animals that travel through time and space, and we find them here on Earth.”

Davidson and Yeo star in the film as the voices of Mirage and Airazor, respectively. trans Wrapping, Ramos and Fishback play a pair of archaeologists who become embroiled in an ancient conflict between the new beast-transformers, the Autobots, and Optimus Prime (played by Peter Cullen). Other cast members include Ron Perlman and Frank Mars.
