Two men were killed Monday night in a collision with Fr. semi-truck on Laket Road in Lee County.

The car, driven by one of the unknown, and another unidentified man was his passenger, was driving west on Laket Road at a high speed of about 20:00. semi-truck behind the wheel of a 42-year-old man from Fort Myers was driving east on Lockett Road. An uninhabited SUV was parked near the secondary impact zone.

An unknown driver failed to drive, as a result of which the car drove into the eastern lane and collided with semi-truck before leaving the roadway to the left and colliding with a telephone pole. The wreckage of the car collided with an uninhabited SUV.

The driver and the passenger of the car died at the scene, their identification has not been established yet. The driver of the village semi-truck with minor injuries was taken to a medical center off the Gulf Coast. The investigation into the disaster continues.
