Vanilla ice got very emotional, remembering the last time he had a heart-to-heart Coolio about being a father … adding that he briefly halted his tour following the rapper’s death.
Ice tried to hold it together while talking about their last meeting … and it seems like Coolio’s kids were on his mind the last time they hung out. He says family was a big topic during their chats.
He tells us that Coolio was positive … and a good friend all the while – adding that he will be missed.
Ice also says he’s taking the day off from performing after finding out about the death of his embryo … because he doesn’t think he’s in the right frame of mind to put on a show.

As we reported, Coolio’s the last performance was with Ice … went on stage with him last week to freestyle during his set. VI says he had no idea this performance would be his last – he was more focused on how honored he was to have such a legend by his side.
Ice tells us that he’s going to make sure his friend’s legacy lives on forever.
