ORLANDO, FL — Get ready to go online and climb aboard your very own Lightcycle at Disney World’s newest attraction: TRON Lightcycle / Run, one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park. “We’ve been working with our teams in Shanghai to bring this attraction to the Magic Kingdom,” said Dan Flynn, Walt Disney Image Creator. “Creating an exciting attraction for our guests.”
Starting April 4, Walt Disney World Resort guests will enter the digital world of TRON at Tomorrowland. As part of the Blue team, the guests will face the Orange team, trying to get through 8 energy gates and get the victory. “As Imagineers, we really love the stories that movies tell,” said Flynn, “and we love taking those stories and bringing them to life.”
Magic Kingdom’s new roller coaster is a cloned ride from Shanghai Disneyland. The attraction combines roller coaster thrills with speed, music, lights and 3D graphics to create an experience that brings to life elements of the popular TRON film and sequel. “Being able to accelerate and go through the ride and all the twists and turns that come with it is an amazing experience,” Flynn concluded.
Disney is the parent company of ABC Localish and this station.
