The sister of a longtime Wendy’s employee with Down syndrome who was recently unceremoniously fired is lashing out at the franchise.
Dennis Peek worked at a Wendy’s in Stanley, North Carolina for 20 years, was fired without notice a few days ago, and now his sister claims managers at the fast-food restaurant told her Dennis couldn’t do his job “normally” a person
Denise’s sister, Conna Young Turnerwrote on Facebook: “I am heartbroken to say that they fired him… They said I was unable to perform the duties of a regular job.”

She continued… “His dream was to get out of there one day and he was looking forward to a big retirement party, we can just give him this party and tell him he’s retired because he’s not understands that he is being fired.”

Now, she says Wendy’s has offered Dennis his job back, but he’s not biting. She also says she is looking into wrongful termination of a special needs employee.
Kono says Dennis was hurt by the layoff, but she’s going to give him a big bonus in retirement.
