At least 174 people were killed in a stampede during an Indonesian soccer match on Saturday.

It was a terrible scene … the fans swarmed the field and the opposing sides battled it out, fighting fiercely.

The police were confused, using tear gas. In fact, it was a fatal move as the fans ran for the exits… resulting in a stampede.
At least 34 people are reported to have been trampled to death. Others died of suffocation.
More than 300 people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals, but some died on the way or ended up in the emergency room.
180 of the injured are reported to be unwell.
