QUEENS (WABC) — The New York City Department of Sanitation will launch the nation’s largest curbside composting program.
City begins weekly organics collection in Queens.
This is the first district-wide program for collecting food waste and yard waste.
Compost will be picked up the same day as recycling.
The pilot program will run for about three months and then pause for the winter before resuming at the end of March.
