President Joe Biden appeared in good spirits enough to tell a well-wisher that “nobody gives a fuck” to his family members during his visit Wednesday to survey the hurricane damage in Fort Myer, Florida.
Mr. Biden had just finished answering questions from the press when he engaged in a brief conversation with what appeared to be a local official.
The man thanked the president for coming to Florida, telling him, “Thank you for everything, we appreciate it.”
The president responded by telling him to “keep the faith,” a phrase he often attributes to his grandfather, who he often says used to say goodbye every time he left their home when he was young.
After the man told the president he was “going to keep the faith,” there was another exchange between the two men that was not clearly picked up by press microphones.
As the two shook hands, Mr Biden said: “Nobody fucks with Biden,” to which the man replied: “God, you’re right.”
The president also told the man, “You can’t argue with your brothers outside the house.”
It is unclear what the president meant. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment The Independent.
