PERRY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office is stepping up to support Florida communities affected by Hurricane Jan by collecting donations.

Along with other items, the sheriff is asking for non-perishable food items, cleaning products, and personal care products. Sheriff Wayne Padgett reminds us how dire the need is in these communities.
“The people down there are in need. All their stores are under water; what is not under water is now full of mud. What we’re trying to do is ask people to bring whatever they need to survive,” Taylor County Sheriff Wayne Padgett said. said.

TCSO will be collecting supplies and monetary donations at Walmart in Perry through Tuesday afternoon with the plan to ship the items Wednesday morning.
