Joe Musgrove has always had a strong repertoire, but this season was special.

Run value is a statistic that measures how many runs are typically scored based on runners on base, drives, and the count. These stats can then be broken down into pitching categories, and for pitchers, the lower the run value, the better the pitch.

Musgrove’s hitter ranks 80th among all pitchers, and his four-seven is in the top 100. Chris BassittThe S Sinker is ranked No. 24, and while his other pitches aren’t as highly ranked, he uses a total of six passes to keep hitters guessing. The chess that beginners will play makes me love Under.
