Old reliable
No tight end has gained more yards through the air than Travis Kelce over the past three seasons, and Mahomes connected on his favorite target for the Chiefs’ first TD of the day. That capped a much-needed 11-play, 75-yard drive that brought KC within 10.
Questionable call?
After the Chiefs DT, boos rained down from the stands Chris Jones was whistled for roughing a passerby after a possible striptease. A punt would have given KC the ball at midfield with just over a minute to play, but it led to a 50-yard field goal by the Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson instead.
A familiar sight
Mohamed. Kielce. It’s like clockwork. KC went up by less than three on its first drive of the third quarter when Kelce hauled in his second TD pass of the night.
Triple subject
The Chiefs third TD meant three things. 1: They lead 24-20. 2. Momentum was on their side. 3. Kelce scored his third TD of the drive, and he did it with just 24 receiving yards to that point. Talk about the threat of the red zone.
