A gunman injured six people, killing one, outside a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, police said.

One person was killed and five others were injured in a knife attack outside a casino on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, Oct. 6, Nevada authorities said.

At approximately 11:42 a.m. LVMPD received a report of a stabbing with multiple victims in front of a casino in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said on Twitter.

One person died at the scene, the others were taken to hospital, police said.

Witnesses said:some of the victims were girls taking pictures with tourists” – reports FOX5.

The suspect, which the police reported that he was detainedwas caught Venetian Hotel, KTNV informed.

The investigation is ongoing, the police said.

“Roads are blocked in this area,” the police said. “Citizens are advised to avoid the area.”
