FOX Sports soccer analyst and former USMNT midfielder Stu Holden counts down the top 50 players participating in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Ahead…

Tim Werner

country: Germany

rating: 46

Rating in 2018: 45

Position: Attacking

age: 26

Tim Werner’s first World Cup could not have gone much worse than it did. In three starts for Germany in Russia ’18, Werner did not score and, as a result, die Mannschaft did not leave the group stage.

Werner is still prone to Cole hitting stretch marks – here’s why Chelsea it was convenient to allow him to return RB Leipzig for half what they paid for him in 2020 – but one good stretch is all that coach Hansi Flick needs from him in Qatar.

“He’s a very good finisher on his day,” Holden said, “although he’s a bit streaky, so I’ve got him in 46th place right now.”

No. 46: Timo Werner

Timo Werner from Germany is known for his speed, movement and finishing.
