A Hollywood legend Angela Lansbury TMZ has learned that she rose to fame for She Wrote Murder, and as the voice of Mrs. Potts on Beauty and the Beast.
Angela died Tuesday at her home in Los Angeles, according to a statement released by her family. NBC News. They say she died in her sleep at 1:30 am.
Although she is best loved for her role as murder mystery Jessica Fletcher in the cult TV hit She Wrote Murder… Angela was an incredibly accomplished stage star prior to her extensive television career.
The British-born actress has won 5 Tony Awards, starring in such productions as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Gypsy: and Dear World. She was awarded her 6th Tony Award for achievements in life.
“The Killing” ran on CBS for 12 seasons – from 1984 to 1996 – and became the network’s most popular show. She received 12 Emmy nominations for this role.
Angela will also be remembered for playing Mrs. Potts in the 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast.
She has 2 children left.
