Two 22-year-old men have died in an ATV crash in Tennessee, officials told news agencies.
The two, identified as Jonathan Newport and Garrett Baird, were riding a Polaris RZR ATV side by side after 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, on Old Highway 63 in Campbell County. when they ran off the road while attempting to make a left turn, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reports WVLT.
Then the quad bike hit the concrete train trestlereports WBIR, citing the Highway Patrol.
The Highway Patrol said the crash caused the ATV to spin and two men were ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries, the TV station reported.

Newport was from Oneida, Tennessee, and Baird was from Pine Knot, Kentucky, officials told WVLT.

“There are a few things that are imperative for us (to remember): 1. Pray, love and help these families who have suffered a sad and unspeakable loss. 2. Thank the first responders who will be taking him home tonight. 3. Be aware of safety precautions when operating an ATV or utv,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
He said he was sending his “heartfelt prayers, love and condolences to these wonderful families and their friends.”
As of Sunday, October 9, there was no other information about the crash.
Campbell County is about 45 miles northwest of Knoxville.
