FORT MYERS BEACH
Ernesto Pedrosa Martinez, 34, and Noel Morales, 54, were arrested Sunday for allegedly looting a Fort Myers beach.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the duo was driving from Homestead to Fort Myers and claimed they were going to help clean up the beach.
Martinez and Morales were seen stealing merchandise from a local business and then loading it into a trailer.
Western District deputies found a trailer nearby with Martinez and Morales, who were taken into custody.
After a search of the trailer, all the victim’s property was confiscated and returned.
Martinez and Morales are charged with grand larceny of more than $750 under $5,000, with a state of emergency enhancement.
